You then have effectively one MIDI track driving two synth voices, which can be two voices within one synth or separate synths. Be sure to link the tracks, so if you make any edits to the original the clone will be automatically updated as well. If you want to layer two voices and play them both simultaneously from one MIDI track, clone the track and assign the clone to a different MIDI channel.
I don't use the TTS-1 this way, so I am not an expert on the synth, but this is how it appears to be. So in order to play 16 parts on the TTS-1, you have to have 16 MIDI tracks assigned to 16 different MIDI channels. I don't think that Sonar will allow you to trigger the two midi parts at the same time from the same midi input to hear the layering as you input the parts.Ĭan you layer sounds inside of the tts-1? I know you can do this inside of sonar, but I want to do it inside project 5.Īs far as I know, each TTS-1 voice is hard-coded to a MIDI channel and that cannot be changed. Of course, the problem with doing it this way is that you can't hear the layering while you are creating the part. Then you'd assign your two instruments to midi channels 1 and 2 (for example) and load the sounds you wanted layered into those parts and assign the corresponding midi channels to the copied tracks. The only way I can think of to do a layer like you are asking for with TTS-1 would be to create your part and then copy it to another midi track. In SampleTank, for example, you can assign as many of the 16 parts to the same midi channel as you want, so the layering works like you would be looking for - simply assign the same midi channel to several of the "parts" within Sampletank and then set the channel on the one track in Sonar that you want to record on and it will trigger all of the parts that are assigned to that channel within the ST VST. As far as I can tell, there isn't a way to checnge the midi channel that any one of the voices in the TTS-1 uses.
